Tom Egbers (b. 1957) is a journalist and writer from Amsterdam. He has been a presenter for Dutch television over the past twenty years. His book De zwarte meteoor (The Black Meteor), about the first black football player in Holland, was succesfully adapted for the screen. In 2002 the sequel, Twaalf gestolen jaren. Het ware verhaal over Steve Mokone (Twelve Stolen Years. The True Story about Steve Mokone) was published. In 2012 Egbers biography Rory Storm (Rory Storm. King of Liverpool, dethroned by The Beatles) was published. It describes the rise of local legend Storm who had everything to become a big star.  However, he remains practically unknown outside Liverpool.  By the people of Merseyside he is never forgotten. Egbers lives just around the corner from where Storm’s Amsterdam appartment was.
