About the book
During a visit to Auschwitz, Paul Glaser sees a Dutch suitcase on display, with his surname on it. It’s the start of a search for a long-hidden family secret: the fate of Paul’s Aunt Rosie. Rosie Glaser was a young Jewish woman from Den Bosch who worked as a dancing teacher. Extremely successful, she danced in Amsterdam, London, Paris and Berlin. When the National Socialists came to power, a life of extreme danger began for Rosie. Her own husband turned out to be a collaborator and he betrayed her to the Nazis. She was detained in several concentration camps, but survived even Auschwitz.
